VVOB's efforts in Ecuador began 21 years ago, a period in which several interventions have been implemented. Prior to 2003, VVOB worked methodologically locating expert technicians in institutions, and giving them a particular task. From 2003 to 2007 a set of projects was executed based on three sectors: Education, Economics and Land-use Planning.
Focus on Education
VVOB has developed a significant evolution in its interventions, which seeks to benefit that part of society that needs it the most. Answering Ecuador’s priorities and its complex challenges, VVOB focuses since 2008, in collaboration with governmental institution, on the support in the education sector. Until 2013 we had two programmes in Ecuador: EGC: Schools as actors of change (Escuelas Gestoras del Cambio) and EFTP: Strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (Educación y Formación Técnica y Profesional).
The TVET programme (el programa EFTP - Educación y Formación Técnica y Profesional - 2014-2016) aims to contribute to better opportunities for high school graduates to pursue higher studies and be inserted into the working world.VVOB focuses on capacity development of partner organisations working in the fields of professional development of teachers and school leaders in technical education, and of creating better links between education and the labour market. The EFTP programme has five result areas.
